For the first time in program history, Tusculum (IVA) defeated Erskine. The Pioneers were able to keep the Erskine hitters in check, never allowing them to hit over .250 in a set. Erskine was definitely feeling the absence of Kacper Rybarczyk yesterday. The Junior Outside had double-digit kills in Erskine’s previous two matches but did not see the court last night. Across the country, UCSD was able to snap their 4 match losing streak with a very strong showing against Emmanuel. The Tritons will try to ride this momentum as they play another match today.
Today we have an exciting 7 match lineup. If you are on the East Coast, get the caffeine ready because most of the matches today will be played out West (or very West, in Hawai’i). The USC/UC Irvine matchup is particularly interesting as both teams come into the match on winning streaks. VBelo is giving the slightest edge to the home team, UCI, but this looks to be a great matchup between two top-10 teams.
I realized yesterday that the interactive schedule that I shared around the beginning of the season is not showing every match. I have yet to figure out why it is not displaying everything, but as soon as I do, I will let you all know. Thankfully, the display issue does not affect the model or the matches for these newsletters.
