Today, I have some quick stats for your Thursday enjoyment. Just about everyone loves a 5-set thriller (except maybe the team that comes out on the losing side). So, here are some fun numbers.
100%
Twelve teams are undefeated in 5-set matches. Harvard is leading the way going 3-0 in these thrillers.
6
Only 6 of the 58 teams have not played in a 5-set match. Those teams are Fort Valley State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach, Maryville, Morehouse, & Mount Olive.
6
Two teams have played in six matches that have gone to 5-sets. Interestingly, they are both in the MIVA: Ohio State and Purdue Fort Wayne.

As the 1st half of the conference play, most coaches poll are accurate. But underneath there seems to be a lot of turmoil for the other places.
But with non conference play beginning again during spring break weeks, the battle for the 2 at large berths will continue.
