Newberry is NOT a Conference Carolinas member. They are a SAC member (like Lincoln Memorial, Tusculum and Catawba). Interestingly, Limestone and Coker who both previously had MVB teams are SAC members now. Could they revive their programs to get the SAC to 6 (and an eventual AQ)?

You are correct and thanks for pointing that out. Interestingly, Newberry does compete in the Conference Carolinas for wrestling. I wouldn't be shocked if Newberry tries to compete there for men's volleyball until the SAC decides to sponsor the sport.

From my understanding, CC is happy where they're at and they don't need any affiliate members - and adding affiliates would probably upset the regular CC teams at this point. If CC was willing to add members I have to think LMU would have been there by now so they could have a shot at an AQ. But understandably, the other schools wouldn't want LMU to come and "steal" a spot in the tournament.

Wrestling is unique - found this on Wikipedia: "The SAC and Conference Carolinas entered into a partnership in the 2018–19 school year by which the two leagues would operate as a single conference in field hockey and men's wrestling, with championships immediately conducted in both sports. The leagues agreed that the SAC would coordinate the field hockey championship, while CC would fill the same role for men's wrestling. Accordingly, all CC field hockey programs became SAC affiliates, and all SAC men's wrestling programs became CC affiliates.[4] The SAC–CC alliance is officially branded as "South Atlantic Conference Carolinas".[5]"
