In addition to an RPI chart and the season schedule, I also put together a quick season stats (for teams) table on Tableau. It’s a bunch of numbers and I want to spend some more time making it look better, but it’s great information all in one place. One thing that it doesn’t currently have is conference record, but it’s on my todo list. Go ahead and take a look and let me know what you think.
AVCA released their latest coaches’ poll and there was some small movement, but nothing overly surprising. Taking a step back, I realized that the top 4 teams have been the same teams all season. No one has really been able to crash the party at the top. This is probably accurate (and VBelo would essentially agree) but I hope that we can see someone new up there before the end of the season. More parity is better for the sport and more exciting for fans.
Small slate of matches today but we do have a fascinating matchup in the Conference Carolinas. If this was 2022, I would think that NGU is almost a sure thing. But it’s not 2022. That means that Lees-McRae has a real chance. For starters they are at home, which is always helpful. Also, the Bobcats defeated Mount Olive earlier this year (as the visitors) and NGU lost to Mount Olive last week. VBelo still thinks that NGU is the stronger team. However, these past matches show us that Lees-McRae has a very real chance of winning and creating even more chaos in the Carolinas.
