For the first time in over 600 days, the official NCAA Men’s Volleyball account on Twitter and Instagram posted something. It would be really easy to complain about the NCAA’s handling of media for Men’s Volleyball, but instead I want to take this time to say thank you.
Thank you, NCAA, for helping support this sports that so many know and love. There is a strong fan base that welcomes you and is glad you have joined the party. In two months, you will be hosting a national championship for this sport and we are glad you are on our side. We look forward to all the ways we will help grow this sport together.
Exciting times, but we also had some volleyball today. VBelo looked pretty good yesterday (even with the NAIA teams) as the closest match ended up going to 5. In the end, Cornerstone pulled out the win over Quincy in the tough fought match. Quincy actually scored more total points (103-00) and led in most statistical categories (except digs). They even out-hit cornerstone in the final set, but came up just short of the W.
Today we have three more matches. Loyola will be taking on Queens in a non-conference matchup. Also, Kentucky State will be playing in the Wittenberg Tri-Match. They will face host Wittenberg and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. KYSU currently leads the nation in losses (17) so they would love to add 2 wins to their record today.
