Yesterday was fairly uneventful. The away teams were the favorites and they swept their opponents. With Lindenwood’s victory, they take the slight edge over Ohio State and Ball State in the MIVA standings. They now sit in 2nd, but they have also played one more conference match than the teams they were tied with. Loyola still leads the MIVA with a perfect 6-0.
With spring breaks happening the next couple of weeks, we are getting some interesting non-conference matchups. Pepperdine will look to bounce back against Hawai’i after their loss on Wednesday. We also get to see Long Beach take the court for the first time since February 18th. Their 10 matches are the 4th fewest of any team in the nation.1
In the MPSF, we have a great matchup with BYU traveling to take on Grand Canyon. Both of these teams have been very impressive this season. If one of them sweeps the other, I’m sure they will be rewarded in the coaches’ poll. Not to mention being rewarded with a higher ranking in the MPSF when it comes time for the conference tournament.
