So here is the thing. I get a lot of things wrong. For example, the other day I said Hawai’i wouldn’t sweep Stanford. Wrong! But, every once in a while, I get something right. Yesterday I wrote about how Lees-McRae had a chance at pulling off the upset and break their 18-match losing streak to King…and they did it! In a 5-set thriller (that ended on a controversial non-reviewable call), the Bobcats got a gigantic victory. Last season, Lees-McRae finished 4-10 in conference play and this season they have started off 3-0. In fact, they are the only Conference Carolinas team to be undefeated in conference play so they are alone in 1st place. Look out, because the Bobcats aren’t messing around this year.
Today, the MPSF begins its conference play with undefeated #5 Grand Canyon and #12 USC. VBelo has this as a super close match. It is likely that VBelo is still underestimating this GCU team, but even on the road they have a slight advantage. This should be a fun one to watch!
We also have some MIVA action in some fairly one-sided matchups. The closest VBelo matchup for today goes to Limestone and Emmanuel, a non-conference match. Looking at the significant digits, Limestone has the “edge” at 50.06%. I love a close matchup (and more significant digits)! This Wednesday may not have a ton of matchups, but we have some great ones so I hope you have the chance to enjoy some volleyball today.
