I don’t know about you, but having Mondays off doesn’t sound too bad. Since there were no matches yesterday and there are no matches today, I want to point you all to some great number crunching done by the incredible Nate Ngo.
Nate is the Technical Coordinator for the USA Volleyball Men’s National Team (so yeah, he’s a big deal). You can find him on Twitter every once in a while doing some amazing analysis before, during, and after big matches. To say that I am envious of all of the data at his disposal is an understatement. If anyone wants to provide me access to a treasure trove of data, just let me know.
Last week, he dove into some data and discussed an extremely hot topic in the world of Men’s Volleyball: service errors. I’m not going to steal Nate’s thunder with the conclusion but he directly discusses the connection between service errors and winning/losing. I HIGHLY recommend checking this out.
Here is a peak at just one of the graphs in this great article.
Again, totally worth your time. Enjoy and I will be back tomorrow with some matches to look forward to.
