Another full day of matches yesterday but for the most part, there were no giant surprises. The lowest projected winner was Lees-McRae at 43%, which is still very much within the realm of possibility. It was basically a coin-flip. At this point in the season we are starting to learn some important, but fairly simple truths.
The top teams are really good.
Good teams can easily win (or lose) against just about any team.
Teams are still developing chemistry and improving.
It is still February, so there is a lot of volleyball to go. I am excited to see where all the teams end up, but already they are giving fans great reasons to be excited. If nothing else, we already have 60 more games played this year than the same time last season!
No matches today sadly. There was a match scheduled between NJIT and George Mason, but due to health and safety protocols, the match was postponed. Since this would have been a conference matchup, I’m sure they will work to find another date to makeup the match. It did seem a little weird to schedule a match on Superbowl Sunday though. I guess the NFL Rihanna will have some extra viewers for their game her performance now.
