Let’s start with the glaring omission from yesterday’s scouting report. A huge apology is owned to the SIAC because they were not included in the match projections, even though they played 4 matches in their tournament yesterday. Don’t worry, the problem has been fixed so their tournament matches will show up now. In fact, you can see how those first post season SIAC matches turned out down below.
There were also two Conference Carolinas matches yesterday and both of them went to five! Post season volleyball at its finest. Mount Olive and Emmanuel both held off upset bids to advance to the conference semifinals. Even though these two matches were close, so far the Conference Carolinas bracket has been uneventful with no lower seeds winning yet.
Today is a big day for tournaments as the EIVA and MPSF kickoff and the MIVA and SIAC continue. These next few days are jam packed with post season matches but not all of them are created equal. The best conference to watch today is likely the EIVA. The highest chance VBelo gives any EIVA team today is 56% which means these teams are very evenly matched on the neutral court. It should be fun to watch.
As always, if enjoy this newsletter and know someone else who might too, go ahead and let them know. Really, I don’t mind.

Match Projections
Rankings reflect the current weekly AVCA Coaches Poll and Off the Block Media Poll.
EIVA Quarterfinals
George Mason (44%) vs NJIT (56%)
Princeton (54%) vs Saint Francis (46%)
MIVA Semifinals
#12 Lewis (31%) at #7/5 Ball State (69%)
#15 Purdue Fort Wayne (30%) at #11/10 Loyola (70%)
That fresh #15 ranking for Purdue Fort Wayne has to feel good going into a tough matchup at Loyola. The Ramblers took both matches against the Mastodons this year (and VBelo thinks they will do so again.)
MPSF Quarterfinals
Concordia-Irvine (23%) vs #5/6 USC (77%)
BYU (39%) vs #8/8 Pepperdine (61%)
#10 Grand Canyon (66%) vs #13 Stanford (34%)
This feels like it has the best potential for an upset. A 1 in 3 chance is pretty good and Will Rottman is playing on another level for the Cardinal.
