VBelo Scouting Report: April 14, 2022
Day 1 of conference tournaments are in the books and it went as expected. It looks like Barton and Lees-McRae will not be Cinderellas this year. That doesn’t mean that there were not exciting happenings.
That’s right, a new season high coming at the most opportune time. Conference Carolinas may not be the favorite to produce the national champion, but they are showing that they can play some high level volleyball. In terms of how this affects the conference tournament, I will talk about that closer to the ConfCarolinas quarterfinals which take place on April 19th.
The interesting matchup today is #12 Stanford at #8/10 Pepperdine. The Waves are 10-3 at home this season while the Cardinal are 0-8 playing away. Home court advantage has been huge this season (64%) and the surprising fortitude of Stanford is unlikely to get their first away win.
Also, thanks for reading this newsletter. If you know someone who might enjoy this, you should probably let them know about it. It’s always a good time to share the VBelo Scouting Report.

Both of these conference tournaments matches were not enough for either team to jump into the top 25 for VBelo. The rest of the tournament is a big uphill climb.
