VBelo Rankings - Top 25
3 Quick Observations
Big West Battles - That Hawaii-Long Beach series had a bigger impact than I expected on the rankings. Compared to a week ago, these two teams traded spots, while UCI stayed right in the middle. It is going to be fascinating to see how that conference shakes out, especially since UC Irvine will be hosting the Big West tournament this year.
Spring Break - The number of teams with no or single digit elo changes is impressive. Schools with quarters had finals while some programs scheduled some fun road trips out of conference. I think we can expect a sprint to the finish line from here on out.
MIVA - I don’t know what to do with them. I have no idea who is going to win. No one does. The gap between the top team (Ball State: 1809) and the 5th spot (Ohio State: 1683) is 126 elo points. This is almost the same as the difference between UCLA and Hawaii (119 elo points), the number one and two in the country. One word: parity.
