3 Quick Observations
Top Dog - UCLA continues to win which means their elo rating continues to climb. Over the course of the season, the Bruins have added almost 250 points to their rating. This is more than any non-first year team. They are also the only team to cross the 2,000 elo threshold. They are also almost 100 elo points away from the #2 team. Are they beatable? Probably. Are they the best team in the country? I don’t see how you could deny it.
MIVA-geddon - The top three MIVA teams are separated by 6 elo points. That is nothing! On a neutral court, that is basically a three-way toss-up. Then the next two teams aren’t that far behind. This is going to be an all-out battle the entire conference season. Anything could happen.
The GLVC Grind - I am so excited to see this conference in action. Southwest Baptist has looked impressive in their inaugural campaign but they have to face their first D-I/II opponent in Maryville this weekend. I think this will tell us a great deal about this team and this conference.
