VBelo Rankings Update
As promised, your weekly update to the VBelo Rankings. Every team. Every time.
Some Updates
I put some time into making the full table look a little nicer. The best part of the changes? More data! In addition to adding wins, losses, and win percentage, there is more elo-over-time data. The table now shows how much elo each team has won or lost since the end of last season as well as changes in the last 7, 15, and 30 days. Who doesn’t love seeing trends?
I’m working on setting up a website that people can bookmark and revisit to see these rankings. The hope is to also include conference standings because you deserve it. Now that I actually wrote it down and you are reading it, I guess that means I should actually make it happen.
Enough of me, here are the rankings.
Updated 2026 VBelo Rankings
Here is the top 25, for those that want to see the non-interactive, less-data version. I’m sure there is someone out there. Right?
3 Things
Here are three very quick observations.
1900’s - There are four teams that have reached the 1900 mark so far this season. They are all incredibly capable of winning the national championship. UCLA is on the cusp of the 2000 mark which would an impressive milestone and a clear indication of their #1 ranking in just about everything.
New Teams - Southwest Baptist, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Northern Kentucky have the biggest gains overall in VBelo this season. A large part of this is that the model puts them at the average starting point for new teams, but they are well beyond the skill of the average new team. These programs are making a splash in their first season and that is so much fun to match.
GLVC Rising - Maryville popped into the top 25 with their recent victory. That is super exciting for a brand new conference. Parity is growing and this is part of the joys of that growth. It is not an if, but a when, the GLVC will be a threat to most teams.
Let me know what interesting things you found in the data!
