Number of the Day
24 - Home court isn’t a magic wand, but it sure helps. In some cases, the home court advantage rises to the level of legend. One of those legends is the Smith Field House, home court of the BYU Cougars. This 5,000 seat arena opened in 1951, but volleyball did not move there until 1990. Many teams have struggled here, including MPSF rivals the Pepperdine Waves. For the first time in 24 years, Pepperdine took two straight matches in the Smith Field House. Pepperdine is currently 8-0 in the MPSF and sits 1/2 game ahead of UCLA at 7-0.
