I’m trying to figure out if there is a good way to display conference standings on Substack. The good news is that I have the data (including tie-breaking), but now I just have to figure out how to make it legible for people to read. I’ll keep you updated!

Number of the Day
1 - It finally happened. We are down to our last undefeated team. UCLA is the 1 undefeated team left in the country. They are now 11-0 for the season and have only lost a total of 3 sets. They have 17 matches remaining, but their schedule is anything but easy. Their next match is against Long Beach, but they have the luxury of playing at home this time. And 13 of those 17 matches are against currently ranked teams. I haven’t calculated their odds of going undefeated yet, but I can’t imagine it is a super high number.

The road has been hard on some but some of the big guns still win, the UCI-USC series is just one example. I wonder what the model sees home v road with teams this season. 🤔
big upset win for Purdue Fort Wayne! could they see some votes in the next rankings?
