In the SIAC if Edward Waters reaches the final match, the opponent automatically goes to represent the SIAC as the transition period has not yet elapsed. This happened in NEC Hoops with Merrimack and FDU in 2023.
I had forgotten about this and it makes me sad. I get it, but it is a real shame for teams that battled through conference play only to have their season end too early.
