Let’s take a look at the latest VBelo ratings. As a reminder, these ratings do not move fast. The only way to gain or lose points is to play matches. In the case of UCLA, they have not played in two weeks so they have not had the chance to move their score up or down.
My first thought is that the top two are starting to separate themselves. Right now it looks like UCLA and Long Beach are the strongest teams in the country. The next tier of teams likely includes a few items that will be in the (heated) conversation for an at-large bid to the National Championship.
One of the very interesting storylines this season comes out of the MIVA. Ohio State, Loyola, and Ball State are tightly grouped in the VBelo rankings (7, 8, & 10). Home court will likely play a big role in deciding who gets their automatic qualification to the National Tournament. These next two weeks will decide the seeds for the MIVA tournament and then things will just continue to get more interesting. Yeah, I’m excited.

Missouri S&T (6%) vs Lincoln Memorial (94%)
Without knowing how likely a good win streak will improve the VBelo, it tough to say. Saint Francis cannot improve too much but perhaps anyone in the MPSF, MIVA or Big West. Exciting weeks ahead.
