All four favorites yesterday had at least an 80% chance of winning. And all four favorites won. That sounds about right to me.
UC Irvine sits atop the Big West at 2-0. The catch is that half of the conference has not started conference play yet. The Anteaters want that top spot, but most importantly they want to win the Big West Tournament.
Ball State continued their strong MIVA play by improving to 7-1. Ohio State and Loyola are right on their heels. The catch for Ball State is that they have played fewer matches than Ohio State and Loyola.
What more is there to say about Grand Canyon? They are still undefeated (15-0) and playing great volleyball. They will head to Hawaii this week to play in the last major non-conference tournament on the schedule: The Outrigger Invitational. These matches will be incredible!
Hawaii has now won 13 in a row as they head into the Outrigger Invitational. The Rainbow Warriors and Lopes will be battling for first place in the AVCA, while UC Irvine and Lewis will try to pull off upsets. I will talk more about the Outrigger, but this is a fantastic lineup for this weekend.

It seems as if the MIVA is a 3 team race. As is Conference Carolinas. The EIVA and the NEC looks like that they have a top 2 and a team on the outside looking in.
Non conference play including the Outrigger & the Big 10 challenge will be fascinating as many eyes will be on those contests
